The product helps established couples maintain healthy relationships and go on regular dates. The goal was to design a new section aimed at increasing user engagement by encouraging more consistent date planning within the app.

User Flow
UX
Cupla is built on the founders’ personal story — they realized that a relationship with your partner should be an essential, inseparable part of life, just like work, habits, and other daily priorities.
The product helps you integrate regular date nights into your schedule to maintain a mindful and meaningful relationship. Cupla is suitable for new couples, long-term partners and families.
What's the problem
Few users continue using the app after downloading it. User engagement drops by 30%–50% after six months.
Hypothesis
More helpful content and ready-made suggestions for date ideas can help attract and retain users.
Make the content personalized based on user preferences. Date Ideas are curated according to the user’s location.
The user can save a date idea they like and come back to it whenever they want.
It is important that it is easy to understand and use the collections.
What's done
The former Date Planner screen was discontinued and became part of the new, larger Dates section. Since Dates has grown into a significant and independent section, it has been given its own place in the tab bar.

Inside this section, there is a switcher between two screens. The Plan Date screen continues its role as a planner but with a redesigned interface. The Date Inspiration screen is completely new and is responsible for inspiring content.
The Result
Ideas is currently undergoing technical improvements and testing. Many regular users have noticed the update and are sending positive feedback. Weekly Inspiration currently covers the UK, the USA, New Zealand, Australia, and others. New locations are being added gradually.

Date Inspiration will be introduced on the main screen once all the ideas have been fully implemented technically.

Plan date
When there are no planned dates yet, the screen shows a cover with a motivational text and a “Plan your next Date” button. Below, large slots suggest that it’s time to schedule a meeting. This is based on how often the user sets their preferred dating frequency in their profile or during registration.

Date Memories display the last three meetings, and by clicking the “See All” button, users can view the full list. In Memories, users can upload photos as keepsakes and add personal descriptions and memories about each date.

According to the product concept, the main “+” button is present on all screens, allowing users to quickly create an event. A separate option, Create Date, has been added to this menu. When selected, an event is quickly created in the calendar with the label “This is a Date.”

Date Inspiration
This is a block of dynamic inspiring content. It features ideas for how to spend a date. There are curated collections provided by the product itself, as well as collections that load interesting events based on the user’s geolocation — concerts, workshops, restaurants, holidays.

Each idea can be expanded to see details, including a cover photo, event address, a link to the event, and a detailed description. On this screen, users can give feedback ratings for the idea, save it to favorites, and share a link to the event. From this screen, it’s also possible to create a date in the calendar. The event will be immediately marked as “This is a Date,” and above it will be a note that the meeting is based on an “Idea.”
